Never mind Hot Girl Summer, it’s shaping up to be Canada Summer, and with the announcement of the Canada Strong Pass, the federal government is giving people even more incentives to travel in the Great White North this year.
From museums and railroads to national parks and camping spots, the pass will make it easier for families to choose Canada as they make their summer plans.
“With the Canada Strong Pass, we’re ensuring young Canadians and families can connect with the places that shape our shared Canadian identity,” said Anna Gainey, Secretary of State (Children and Youth).
“With fewer financial barriers, we hope even more people will have the chance to explore our stunning landscapes, vibrant cities and rich cultural heritage. This is about supporting our youth, strengthening our communities and celebrating everything that makes Canada home.”
From June 20 to September 2, 2025, the Canada Strong Pass will provide the following savings for travellers within Canada:
Parks Canada
The pass will provide free admission for all visitors to national historic sites, national parks and national marine conservation areas administered by Parks Canada and a 25 per cent discount on camping fees.
With 171 national historic sites, 48 national parks, five national marine conservation areas and one national urban park, Parks Canada protects some of the country’s most iconic places so you’ll be spoiled for choice.
For anyone who has already purchased a Parks Canada Discovery Pass for the months of June, July and August 2025, they will be extended for an additional three months.
National museums
The national museums of Canada and the National Battlefields Commission are also participating in this initiative. These institutions preserve and promote Canadian history, art, culture, science and nature while welcoming millions of visitors every year.
Holders of the pass will get free admission for children aged 17 and under and a 50 per cent discount for young adults aged 18 to 24.
Participating museums include the Canada Agriculture and Food Museum, the Canada Aviation and Space Museum, the Canadian Museum of History, the Canadian Museum of Nature, the Canada Science and Technology Museum, the Canadian War Museum and the National Gallery of Canada, which are all located in the National Capital Region.
Other sites in the country that are part of the program are the Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21 in Halifax, the Plains of Abraham Museum in Quebec City and the
Canadian Museum for Human Rights in Winnipeg.
VIA Rail
VIA Rail connects communities across Canada on its vast network of passenger rail services. They are offering pass holders free travel for children aged 17 and under when accompanied by an adult and a 25 per cent discount for young adults aged 18 to 24.

Selected provincial and territorial museums and galleries are also signing on to the Canada Strong program and will offer free admission for children and a 50 per cent discount for young adults aged 18 to 24.
